My journey into design was a bit unconventional. I started out as an engineering student, but it didn’t take long for me to realize that my true passion wasn’t in coding- it was in creating and designing.
I tried my hand at everything from video editing to web development, but UI/UX design is where I found my calling. I started with no formal training, no industry connections, and honestly, a lot of uncertainty about where to begin.
But I kept going. I taught myself the basics, traveled long distances to attend design events, and took on any opportunity to grow my skills—even if it meant working unpaid internships and late nights.
Over time, I transitioned from designing simple college posters to working with brands like Zomato and Urban Company, leading significant design projects across the globe.
Throughout this journey, I learned that having strong design skills is just one piece of the puzzle. To really stand out and land the opportunities you want, you need a portfolio that not only showcases your work but also tells your story in a compelling way.
